Let Your Skin Do The Talking

Whoever said ‘beauty is skin deep’ was right in so many ways! True beauty is, indeed, all about your skin. So if you haven’t given a fair share of attention to your skin, it is better you start soon. Ignore your skin now, and you pay for it later. Pamper you skin now and you’ll make heads turn forever. No kidding! Such is the charm of a good and healthy skin.
To start taking care of your skin, begin from the basics.
Know your skin. Is it overtly dry or has an oily T-zone or is it a blemished skin with dark patches?
Is your skin allergic to anything?
Do you often suffer from pimple breakouts?
When you have answered all that and more, it’s time to take up a disciplined skin care regime. A healthy skin always makes a mark. But health cannot be acquired; it needs to be developed from within.
To this end, drink 10-15 glasses of water regularly and cleanse your system. Avoid junk and oily food, go for greens aplenty. That would help remove harmful toxins from your body. Analyze the skin care products that you use. Sometimes some brands suit more on certain skin types. Therefore, use the products that are just right for your skin. If you cannot decide for yourself or if you’re apprehending other possibilities, it is always better to consult a dermatologist or skin care expert for advices on natural skin care.
Protect your skin from the sun. Over-exposure to sun can be excessively damaging to your skin. The UV rays not only tan the skin, but they also lead to premature aging, wrinkling, sagging, and discoloration. In extreme cases, skin cancers may also develop from too much sun-exposure. A tan would fade eventually, but the severe consequences of inordinate sun-exposure would root deep in to trouble you later. So be wary before you step out in the sun. A good sunscreen (SPF +30) does only 40% of the job. It becomes ineffective soon after you sweat. You need to reapply to sustain the purpose. But all said and done, the UV rays would still take its toll on the skin. So it’s best to reduce the time you spent outdoors or dress in a way that covers the most of your body. Wearing broad hats to shade your face can be one idea.
Treat your skin gently. Do not rub creams, toners or cleansers into your skin. Even while washing face, make the lather in your palm and then apply on face. Rinse with warm water and wipe with a soft cloth. Ensure that you don’t block the pores while applying make-up. A skin that doesn’t breathe, ages early. Remember, if you must apply make-up, keep it short and simple. Cleanse your skin regularly, consume water, change your diet, switch to a proper skin care routine and start collecting compliments!
